The always pleasant Eiffel Tower.

France has many monuments, likely the most well known being the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower was finished in March 31st, 1889
Construction of the Eiffel Tower was planned in 1884
The actual construction begin in 1887.
It was named after Gustave Eiffel. (an important man in the construction of the Eiffel tower)
The main architect was not Gustave Eiffel though, but a man by the name of Stephen Sauvestre.
Its location is in Paris.
It is used as a radio broadcasting tower and an observation tower.

The french currency used to be the franc. It looks a bit like this:
However in 2002 the franc was taken over by the euro. Which looks like this:

One euro is the equivalent to 1.31 American dollars,

A little on politics:
France is best described as a republic which basically means power is mostly within the citizens that are able to vote, that vote however is expressed through a representative chosen by the people.

France has both a president and a prime minister,
the president being Nicolas Sarkozy,
the prime minister being Francois Fillon,

To go in depth about the government, it is actually called the Fifth Republic. It is being governed by the Constitution of the Fifth Republic. It was originally created by Charles de Gaull in 1959, he was the very first president under this new republic, the first prime minister under this government was the man who helped him create the Fifth Republic, Michel Debre.
